What we collect

TheTanList collects limited information needed to receive messages, operate the hosted site, and understand whether its guides and tools are useful:

  • Messages you choose to send. If you contact the editorial email address, we receive the address and information you include in that message. The site does not currently operate a newsletter signup form.
  • Hosting and security logs. The hosting provider may process standard request, device, network, and security information to deliver and protect the site under its own terms.
  • Consent-based analytics. Google Analytics 4 loads only after you choose Allow analytics in the settings on this page. When enabled on the live site, it can process page paths, referring page paths, browser and device information, approximate location derived from network information, and interactions such as outbound retailer-link clicks. TheTanList strips URL query parameters and fragments from the page and referrer locations it sends to Google Analytics, and its custom outbound events omit query strings.

Analytics settings

TheTanList uses Google Analytics 4 only after opt-in consent. Google advertising signals and ad-personalization signals are disabled. If you keep analytics off, the site does not load the Google Analytics tag. Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage and a first-party preference cookie so the site can remember it.

What we don't collect

  • No TheTanList account, checkout, payment, or profile data.
  • No newsletter address through a site form.
  • No purchase detail returned from a retailer to this site.

Cookies

If you allow analytics, Google Analytics may set first-party measurement cookies. If you later choose Keep analytics off, TheTanList does not load the analytics tag and attempts to remove its Google Analytics cookies. The hosting provider may use strictly necessary security or delivery mechanisms under its own policy.

Affiliate cookies

When you follow a retailer or affiliate-network link, that third party may set a referral cookie or process the visit under its own privacy policy. TheTanList does not place that third-party cookie before you leave this site.

Data deletion

If you want to ask about or request deletion of information you sent us, email the address on the contact page. We will review the request and any legal obligations that apply.

We update this page when our practices change. The "last updated" date in the footer reflects the most recent revision.
